December 2026 SRP 230kV Payout
Tribal staff are preparing for the final 10-year Landowner payouts for the Salt River Project (SRP) and the Arizona Public Service (APS) 230-kV right-of-way easements. The SRP easement will be paid out in mid-December 2026; the APS easement will be paid out in mid-June 2027. These are the fifth and final payouts for the current SRP & APS 230-kV easements. The previous four payouts were processed in 1986/1987, 1996/1997, 2006/2007, and 2016/2017.
The upcoming payouts require a new independent appraisal. The appraisal methodology is defined in the Grant of Easement and is the same procedure that was used to determine the valuation and payout amounts in the previous four payouts. The appraisal is being reviewed by the US Department of Interior’s Appraisal and Valuation Services Office (AVSO). Actual individual payout amounts are not yet known, but staff expect that information to be available by December 4, 2026. Landowners can call the ROW Hotline at 480-362-6870, for general information and if they have questions. Staff will answer questions within 5 business days. To maintain security of personal and confidential information, Landowners are required to verify their identify and/or meet with Tribal rights- of-way staff in person before personal financial information is disclosed.
Staff believe SRP and APS will both want to renew the right-of-way easements prior to their expiration in 2036 and 2037; respectively. Stay tuned for more information on those upcoming projects.
