Monsoon Season Preparedness
Storm Contacts
Keep emergency contacts handy in case you need assistance during a storm or any other monsoon emergency.
Monsoon Awareness Important Information:
Be cautious of extreme heat and blowing dust. Take precautions for lightning and flash flood safety.
Power Outage Preparedness
Learn what actions to take when your power goes out, and where your local cooling centers are.
Build an Emergency Kit for Your House:
Prepare an emergency kit with essentials like water, non-perishable food, flashlight, batteries, first aid supplies, and important documents.

Available for pickup or delivery, please make arrangements beforehand using the information in the link below.
Heat Exhaustion vs. Heat Stroke:
Stay safe and hydrated in the heat. Know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke to protect yourself and others. Know when to act and call 911.
Flooding Safety:
Since floods can occur with little to no notice, keep these tips in mind to avoid potentially fatal mistakes.

EXTREME HEAT WARNING
Ongoing extreme heat is creating dangerous conditions across the community. Take precautions to stay safe.
☀️Know the Risks
Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can occur quickly
Vehicles can become deadly within minutes
Overnight temperatures may stay high, limiting recovery
💧Hydrate
Drink water before you feel thirsty
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and sugary drinks
Use electrolytes when working or exercising outdoors
🕒Limit Outdoor Activity
Avoid outdoor activity between 10 AM and 6 PM
Take frequent breaks in shade or air conditioning
Wear light, loose-fitting clothing and a hat
🏠Stay Cool
Use air conditioning whenever possible
Visit cooling centers, malls, or libraries if needed
Keep blinds and curtains closed during peak sun hours
🚗Vehicle Safety
Never leave children, pets, or vulnerable adults in a car
Check your back seat before locking your vehicle
Car interiors can exceed 140°F within minutes
👥Check on Others
Older adults, children, and those with medical conditions are at higher risk
Ensure pets have shade and constant access to water
⚠️Warning Signs of Heat Illness
Heat Exhaustion
Heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, headache
Move to a cool place, hydrate, and rest
Heat Stroke (Medical Emergency)
Confusion, no sweating, rapid pulse, body temperature 103°F or higher
Call 9-1-1 immediately
Take this heat seriously. Prevention saves lives.

The Salt River Community Children’s Foundation (SRCCF) is now accepting applications for their November Regular Meeting Agenda.
COMPLETED APPLICATIONS ARE DUE: Friday, July 31, 2026 by 5:00 PM
(Any incomplete applications or applications received after the Due Date will roll over to the following SRCCF Monthly Agenda)
REQUIREMENTS:
MUST BE an Enrolled SRPMIC Child
MUST BE between the ages of Birth up to 17 years old
MUST BE submitted by a parent or legal guardian
For Organization(s), MUST benefit a majority of Enrolled SRPMIC Children
DOCUMENTS NEEDED:
– Detailed Invoice or Quote – Must submit an invoice or quote which accounts for all funds being requested. Must equal the Total Amount Requested.
– Current Academic Grades for the Youth – Must submit current academic grades for the youth who is to benefit from this request, if of school age, indicating a quarter or semester grade average of a C or better (or its equivalent). SRCCF may consider extenuating circumstances and either waive the grade average requirement or submission of this information where deemed appropriate.
– Written Statement from the Youth – Must submit a statement from the youth who is to benefit from the request (where age and ability appropriate) explaining how the funds would benefit them.
– Any Additional Information Explaining / Supporting the Contribution Request
– Organizations Only – Copy of §7871(a)(1)(A, B, & C) or §501(C)(3) Determination Letter (if formally organized)
Once Complete, Submit your Application by:

SRPMIC Public Health – Diabetes Prevention Services is excited to invite all Community Members and Tribal Employees to join our 2026 Beat the Heat Challenge! Whether you’re taking your first steps toward fitness or are already on your wellness journey, this challenge is the perfect way to stay motivated and have fun while staying active in the cool, welcoming environment of the Ske:g Himdag Ki Fitness Center.
🔥Why Join the Challenge?
Regular physical activity can help lower your risk of Type 2 diabetes, support weight management, boost energy, and improve overall well‑being.
The goal?
150 minutes of activity each week — and we’ll help you get there!
Choose the option that works best for you:
• Option 1: Attend 3 Diabetes Prevention Group Exercise Classes + 2 additional workouts (at home or at the Fitness Center)
• Option 2: Attend 5 Group Exercise Classes during the week
Both options help you stay on track while giving you the flexibility you need.
