Tethering Your Dog? Keep Them Safe!

Dogs may be tethered to keep them from roaming, righting, or getting hurt, but tethering can become dangerous in heat, storms, and around loose animals.

A few ways to help keep your pets safe:

  • Provide shade and airflow all day
  • Keep water available
  • Bring pets inside or move them to a safe, covered area during monsoons
  • Use a proper collar/harness
  • Make sure your dog has room to move
  • Protect tethered dogs from other animals by bringing them inside or into a fenced area
  • Check on them often for signs of distress
