Virgil Stoneburner, a faithful man of God, passed away at the age of 95, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, and a lifetime devoted to proclaiming the Word of God.
For 70 years, Reverend Stoneburner faithfully served the Lord through preaching and ministering the Gospel. His calling was not simply a profession, but a way of life. Throughout his years of ministry, he pastored churches in missions, served through Southern Baptist ministries, and ministered to congregations throughout America. Wherever God called him, he faithfully went sharing the Gospel and pointing others toward Christ.
Reverend Stoneburner was also a devoted family man. He was married for 64 years to his first wife Donna Stoneburner and later shared 10 years of marriage with his second wife DJ Stoneburner. His love for his family was an important part of his life and legacy.
Above all, Reverend Stoneburner will be remembered as a man who served God, stood steadfast in God’s Word, was devoted to his family, and dedicated his life to serving others. Even as a young boy, he would stand on the corner with his little red wagon, preaching God’s Word,
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
— John 14:6
His childhood faithfulness foreshadowed the calling God would place upon his life. He faithfully preached the Gospel, his life was a testament to a man who answered God’s call and remained faithful to it throughout his life.
