The SRPMIC Environmental Health Program performs and offers a variety of services to help protect the Community including permitting and regulatory inspections of qualifying food service providers, temporary food permits for special events, pet vaccinations, and public and semi-public swimming pool inspections.

Food Handler Classes and Cards – The SRPMIC Environmental Health Program offers free, in-person, classes to obtain your Food Handler Card. These classes are currently being offered twice monthly on the first and last Wednesdays of each month. The cards are good for 3 years and accepted only here within the Community. Our cards are NOT recognized by Maricopa County and will not be applicable outside the SRPMIC boundaries.

Food Complaint Inspections – On occasions we receive complaints in regards to food vendors operating within the SRPMIC boundaries. These complaints range from concerns of illegal vendors, unsanitary food preparation conditions, or possible sickness related to foods purchase and consumed. We take every complaint seriously and will address them accordingly to keep the Community and its visitors safe. If you have a complaint or concern please contact us.

Annual Food Service Permits – Health permits are required for anyone operating as a food vendor (exemptions apply). In order to operate as a food vendor you must be able to pass inspections based on the most up to date FDA Food Code and keep your permit in good standing, including renewals every year. Permits carry a fee of $150 and are based on a calendar year, expiring after December 31st. To obtain a permit or if you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Temporary/Special Event Food Permits – Temporary health permits are a free version of our regular permits but only valid for a short time, usually during a special event. Restrictions do apply for obtaining a Temporary Food Permit, all requirements of the most current FDA Health Code must be followed, and vendor must be able to pass inspections conducted by SRPMIC Environmental Health Program or partnering inspectors.

Pet Vaccinations – Pet vaccinations protect your furry family members from several highly contagious diseases such as parvovirus infection and respiratory tract infections. It also protects against transmissible diseases such as rabies that also pose a risk to humans. Vaccines are preventative rather than curative which means they are for healthy pets only to ensure they stay healthy and safe. Please contact us for more information or to set up an appointment.

Spay and Neuter Clinics – By spaying or neutering your pet, you’ll help control the pet homelessness crisis. There are also medical and behavioral benefits to spaying (female pets) and neutering (male pets) your animals. Diseases such as pancreatic cancer, testicular cancer, and mammary cancer can be nearly completely eliminated which will save you money and heartache later in your pet’s life and extending their lifespan. We work directly with the NAGI Foundation that helps to facilitate our spay/neuter clinics and are the reason why we have been able to bring these clinics to the Community on a regular basis. Visit the NAGI Foundation for more information or to get involved.
