Proposition 409 – Behavioral Health & Emergency Care Bond
This November, Maricopa County voters will consider Proposition 409, an $898 million bond proposal for Valleywise Health. The measure would fund projects to expand behavioral health services, increase inpatient and emergency room capacity, rebuild and improve community health centers, and enhance physician training facilities.
If approved, the bond would support replacement of the existing behavioral health hospital, expansion of inpatient and emergency services, and improvements to outpatient clinics throughout the county. The estimated tax rate for the proposed bond is $0.11 per $100 of assessed limited property value.
