Mikah Carlos

District E Representative

Current Term: 2022 – 2026

Mikah Carlos is Onk Akimel O’Odham, Tohono O’Odham and Piipaash and is an enrolled member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Community, located in the Phoenix Metropolitan area of Arizona. Ms. Carlos was elected to her first term on the Salt River Indian Community Tribal Council in 2022 and serves her Community as the District E representative.

Ms. Carlos’ professional career has been centered on being an advocate for public healthcare, cultural preservation, language revitalization and youth; focusing efforts on mental health and access to education. As such, Ms. Carlos continues to serve as a board member for the National Indian Child Welfare Association and recently completed her term on the Youth Advisory Board for the Center of Native American Youth.

Ms. Carlos has worked with the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, the Arizona Department of Child Safety and as a cultural ambassador for the i-LEAD project, in partnership with the Lady Justice Task Force. Ms. Carlos graduated from Arizona State University, majoring in American Indian Studies and Psychology.
