Public Information Officer
The Salt River Police Department’s (SRPD) Public Information Officer (PIO) and Public Relations Officer (PRO) have the mission of making Positive Interaction Often. Positive interaction within our community by enacting positive community policing strategies and providing information for numerous community programs and contacts.
The SRPD believes in traditional roles of policing that include investigation, enforcement, and suppression. The SRPD places an equal belief and focus on education and prevention of crime through community contact and programs to improve the quality of life and preserve peace within the SRPMIC by assigning a specific detail for this progressive approach.
The PIO is the communications spokesperson for the department for all media relations outlets for any SRPD Police activity occurring within the exterior boundaries of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC). The PIO provides all media relations contact and answers public information inquiries for the department in relation to internal requests from the community and its media outlets as well. The PIO also takes an active role in the media by writing newspaper articles and press releases on a regular basis to keep media outlets informed of the activities and events that the SRPD is known for.
The PRO and PIO are the first point of contact for the many community policing programs that SRPD has to offer including but not limited to the following programs; Citizen’s Police Academy, Explorer Post, Neighborhood Block Watch, Personal Safety Awareness Presentations, Merchant Safety Awareness Presentations, and many other programs available.

Inquiries can be made to the SRPD PIO and SRPD PRO who are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm during regular business hours and is also on-call for media requests and major events.
