The O’odham New Year Celebration is a gathering that honors one of the most sacred times in the O’odham calendar—the baidaj season, marked by the harvest of the saguaro fruit. Traditionally, this time of year signifies renewal, prayer, and preparation for the coming seasons.
Our celebration will take place late in the summer to give the community another opportunity to come together in that same spirit of renewal and gratitude. This event offers a space to honor our traditions, reconnect with one another, and celebrate our cultural teachings through music, food, and dance.
