Over the past several months, we’ve been collecting Community feedback on a proposed formal name change that would replace one or more non-Indigenous names with traditional O’odham and Piipaash names.

In 2023, Council identified language preservation as a key Community priority, and the Strategy “P” Team was formed to support language preservation, maintenance, and revitalization.

A name change would be a significant effort that requires broad support — and this is the final call to share your input.
