Feet Don’t Fail Me Now with Dr. Megan Barlow

Dr. Megan Barlow is the Clinical Director of the Podiatry Department of SRPMIC Health & Human Services. Often our feet are taken for granted until we have an injury or condition. But our feet are literally our foundation and there are things we can do to keep our feet healthy for our lifespan. In turn healthy feet can help us to be active preventing many of the common chronic illnesses. Ironically, there are a number of chronic conditions which affect the health of our feet, diabetes and cardiovascular disease to name two. Join Dr. Barlow to find out what we can know about our health from our feet, how to maintain the health of our feet, common conditions which affect the health of our feet, what can be one to avoid those conditions, and more. The Sleep Factor with Derek Vidinha, RD.

Derek Vidinha, MS, RD, is a clinical dietitian with the SRP-MIC River People Health Center with a strong interest in nutrition and sleep which he has presented on this topic recently at professional conferences. Derek will lead a discussion of sleep as a health factor and how to improve both sleep quality and duration. Poor sleep and the impact on mortality and risk for chronic disease, particularly diabetes and obesity will be presented. Derek will discuss common nutrition supplements that effect sleep with time reserved for your questions to be answered.


The Diet Factor
