What Happens After You Submit?

We take all complaints seriously and are committed to a thorough, fair, and respectful process. Here’s what happens after you submit a complaint:

Citizen Complaint Process

1. Complaint Received

Complaint is reviewed, tracked and assigned for investigation

2. Investigation

An objective and thorough investigation is completed identifying if policy violation(s) occurred

3. Review Process

The Investigation is reviewed through investigator’s chain of command and Office of the Chief

4. Outcome

Chief of Police makes final decision on outcome whether:

  • No policy violation(s) occurred or;
  • Policy Violation(s) were discovered; The Community disciplinary process is followed when discipline is warranted

5. Notification

Complainant is notified investigation is complete
