Community Engagement & Programs | Salt River Police Department
The Salt River Police Department (SRPD) is committed to building strong relationships with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC). Through outreach, education, and collaboration, SRPD programs provide opportunities for connection, support, and partnership.
From community feedback and public information, to school resource officers and youth cadet programs, these efforts strengthen trust and ensure safety, respect, and unity across the Community.

Community Engagement Team
The Salt River Police Department (SRPD) Community Engagement Team (CET) was created to strengthen connections between the department and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC).
Our mission is simple: build trust, improve communication, and work together for community well-being.
What We Do
- Listen & Connect – We provide an inclusive platform where every voice can be heard.
- Support & Guide – We link Community Members with the resources they need.
- Collaborate & Solve – We work side by side to address challenges and create solutions.
- Strengthen Community – Through proactive outreach and partnership, we promote safety, respect, and unity.
Together, we are building positive relationships that ensure the SRPD and SRPMIC continue to grow stronger, together. The CET includes five officers, a Community Relations Specialist, and a Sergeant who guide daily operations and align strategies with SRPD’s mission.
Public Information & Relations (PIO/PRO)
The PIO/PRO team promotes transparency and trust by keeping the Community informed.
They manage SRPD social media, publish newsletters, and serve as the primary media liaison. They also handle public notifications, ensuring important updates are communicated quickly and clearly.
School Resource Officer (SRO) Program
The SRO program fosters positive relationships in SRPMIC schools. Officers work with students, teachers, and staff to provide guidance, resolve conflicts, and create a safe learning environment.
SROs also educate students on topics such as personal responsibility, respect, and safety — helping prepare the next generation for success.
